I normally apply quite a lot of black liquid eyeliner, this however is quite harsh/sharp. so i use black eyeshaddow to soften the look
however
the eyeshadow seems to rub off on to my eyesocket bone at the top, and end up with another line above my eye
any chance of anyone knowing how i could prevent or stop this from happening?Liquid eyeliner and eyeshadow help?
Use a make-up primer to help the eyeshadow have something to grip on to. My make-up would often melt away or disappear until I started using a primer, not to mention it makes your skin look %26amp; feel smooth %26amp; more flawless.
Smashbox makes a really nice primer %26amp; it's not too badly priced.
You put the primer on before any other make-up, just in case you didn't understand how it works. :DLiquid eyeliner and eyeshadow help?
Use less make-up, and set it with powder when you're done applying. That should do the trick.
Also, if you put a bit of foundation on your lids and set the foundation with just a little powder BEFORE you apply the liner, the liner and shadow will have something to stick TO, and be less likely to smudge.
You definitely want to set it with just a little powder when you're done. I know this seems like a lot of powder, but if you use just a little each time, it'll layer onto your skin thinly and not actually BE too much.
Just a note ... black eyeliner with black eye shadow is way too harsh unless you're onstage, or up on a pole. Do you really need it ? Do your friends or your family tell you that you wear too much make-up? They're probably right ! Why not try less, or just the liner with a color lighter than black shadow, and see if you don't actually look better ? It might seem like your eyes are disappearing, but they're not (I promise!). You're just used to seeing them with all the goop around them. Give it a try !!
Best of luck !
Instead of trying to put more makeup on to soften your look, try putting on less. Grey liquid eyeliner instead of black will help a lot, and putting eyeshadow not very high up and just a few cm. above your lashes will keep it from getting clogged up. I hope this helped.
Try setting it with a translucent powder after you have applied your eyeshadow. It may make you eyeliner look less harsh too if that is a problem.
Hope this helps
